Mayor. Mayor? Wow. I couldn't stop myself. I've lived here since 1992 and have watched from the sidelines while raising my kids. I can't sit back and just watch any more.

I invite you to come along on this journey with me. If we can get to know one another along the way, share some ideas, maybe even exchange some differences--and come out the other end each knowing a little more--then it's all worth the effort.

My name is Meghann Coughlan (that's Cog-lan) and I am running for Mayor of Abbotsford. Through this website and other media moments, I hope to at the very least interest you enough to get out and vote. Especially those of you who have perhaps not felt like voting made a difference before. Trust me, YOUR VOTE makes a difference.
And it will make an even bigger difference if it's for me.

Over the coming days, I'll talk more about who I am, what I stand for, and how I think I can help make Abbotsford the great place we all envision.

I welcome your questions, will do my best to answer them -- I have a lot of learning to do, too -- and promise this one thing: I will be honest, diligent, respectful and thoughtful during my campaign.

I took the Canadian Taxpayers Federation Pledge, promising to support a bylaw which would force council members to take a 15% pay cut if we raise property taxes beyond the rate of inflation without YOUR permission. Travis Daleman was the only other Mayoral Candidate to sign the pledge. See it here
